James Bay is the bedroom community to the downtown core. A tourism hot spot because of its many attractions, charming character homes, and stunning beaches. James Bay is one of Victoria’s oldest communities. 

It’s a dense urban neighbourhood offering the ultimate in walkability. The area exudes that wacky west coast vibe. The area is renowned for its old quirky character homes, townhouses, float homes at fishermans wharf, and luxury condos. 

Residents enjoy walking or cycling by the Legislature buildings on their way to work downtown. New bike baths along Superior & Simcoe Street have enhanced accessibility to the neighbourhood. 

James Bay is surrounded by water on three sides, and the fourth side is bordered by a lovely park, namely, Beacon Hill Park. The heart of the neighbourhood is James Bay Village, filled with local shops and services.
